About Us
Who are we?
Boogaloo Assassins are a 13-piece Latin Boogaloo, Salsa, and Latin Soul group from Los Angeles, California. A live music favorite since 2008, their independently released 2013 debut album OLD LOVE DIES HARD was inspired by the soulful Latin records of the 1960s, and their 7-inch lead single “No No No” took radio and dancehalls around the world by storm. Boogaloo Assassins have received airplay on Los Angeles radio stations like KCRW, KKJZ, KPFK, KPCC, KXLU and Giles Peterson’s BBC Radio 6, as well as press from NPR, Vice, the LA Weekly and the OC Weekly, as well as winning OC Weekly Music Awards “Best Latin Band” 3 separate times.
In 2014, Boogaloo Assassins joined the iconic 60s era Latin label FANIA, and backed FANIA legends Joe Bataan and Roberto Roena for a FANIA 50th Anniversary show in San Francisco, CA. A limited release 7-inch Latin Boogaloo scorcher, “One and Only”, was produced and distributed by Innovative Leisure recording artist Nick Waterhouse in 2016. Based on the exploding popularity of the single “No No No” in Salsa’s modern home, Colombia, Boogaloo Assassins were invited to perform at 2019’s Salsa al Parque – one of Colombia’s premier Salsa events, with 17k+ in attendance — including live coverage on Colombia’s national public television show, Canal Capital.
In 2022, Boogaloo Assassins are finishing production on their much-awaited new record, to be released late-2022.
